Part 2
~Blake~
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The plane landed in Perth airport smoothly, Blake had very little time to get himself out without being noticed, but if he knew one thing it was how to get around un noticed. He waited until the luggage area was opened and the men took the first set of luggage away before he snuck off the Plane, he grabbed a fluorescent working vest as he passed one of the luggage carts and walked un questioned from the runway to the airport, as soon as he got a safe distance into the airport he took off the vest and left it on a bench then rustled around in his pocket, he pulled out just enough money to get on a charter bus, this however left him without money for anything else, though this was nothing new to Blake, having no money was just part of life, he knew well enough how to survive with nothing, he’d been doing it his whole life.
The Charter filled up quickly, the seats were extremely large and soft for a bus and there was plenty of room to move around, there were even bathroom facilities on the bus which was a new concept to him. To some degree he felt out of place, a bus had more on it than he had even when he had a home, but Blake wasn’t one for regrets, he just sat in his chair and looked out the window until a lady with a young child sat next to him, the child was arguing because the he wanted to be able to watch out the window as they drove. “Momma!” the boy said at the top of his voice “I WANNA SEE THE CARS!!” he yelled then screwed his face up and tears welled up in his eyes “Joel honey, you can see the cars for where you are, you have to keep your voice quite or the other people will get mad at you” the mother said clearly torn between wanting to make her son happy and keep the other passengers form getting her and Joel kicked from the bus. Blake stood up and stretched “Excuse me little man” he said to Joel “would you like to swap seats with me, I’d like very much to sit near the isle” Blake knew he would be further from the window seat he requested when he brought his ticket, but he also didn’t want to watch out the window anywhere near as much as Joel did. The mother looked at Blake knowing very well it cost extra for a window seat, which is why she could not have one in the first place, she smiled “you don’t have to” she said “He will settle down soon, I’m sorry if he’s bothering you enough to make you move” Blake smiled “its alright, how could I possible refuse something so simple that will make him happy” he said and lets the boy move over then the mother to be near her son and he sat on the end next to the isle “thank you so much” the mother said insistently “you have really made a bad day for Joel a lot brighter” she said tears now making her eyes sparkle in the light “Would you like to talk about it?” Blake asked not entirely sure why he asked but feeling right for doing so. The lady looked down and her hands then sighed “Its just, his father wasn’t a very nice person, I could deal with him hitting on me, but when he hit Joel, I just, I just had to leave, Joel doesn’t need that kind of life, so I’m coming to stay with my sister, things will look up, they have to” she said “I’m sorry, I didn’t tell you my name, its Simone” she said “Nice to meet you, I’m Blake” Blake said softly “I’m glad I could do something to make his journey better” Blake smiled, “Where are you headed?” Simone asked “I’m not sure” Blake said “where ever I end up I guess” he put his feet up leaning on the back of the chair in front of him “Sounds exciting” Simone smiled looking intrigued “What makes someone pack up there lives and go wherever the road takes them?” she asked “destiny” Blake replied simply “I’m looking for my path and I’m just going where ever I get to and hoping for the best” Simone looked at Blake curiously, clearly she wanted to understand what he meant, Blake smiled again “I come from nowhere, all I have to lose is lost, there is nothing behind me now, I can look directly to the future and I can take everything in as it comes” he said “It sounds amazing, I wish you all the best” she said truthfully “I hope the same for you” Blake replied.
Simone and Blake were both quite for a fair while before Simone turned back to him “Is there something I can do for you, for your kindness? I don’t have much money but I could give you a small amount” Blake looked at Simone “Its alright, thank you for the offer but I have everything I need on me” Simone’s face changed “Please, there has to be something I can do for you, something I can do to re-pay you for your kindness” she said sincerely, Blake thought for a moment “Okay”, he said “There is one thing you could do for me, Give you son all the love you can possibly give, never let him feel alone” Simone looked at Blake oddly then smiled “It’s a promise” she said.
The rest of Blake’s ride on the bus He talked with Simone about random things it didn’t matter to either of them, they just enjoyed talking to each other with no purpose other than keeping each other company while Joel slept, when the bus stopped Blake got up and smiled “It was great meeting you Simone” he said then left the bus and waved as it drove off even though he couldn’t see through the tinted windows.
Blake looked around and in the distance, he saw a girl that looked extraordinarily familiar though when he looked away and back again she was gone, he shrugged and made sure his dagger was handy then walked along the road, he walked a long distance though the more he walked the longer the road seemed to get, Traffic stopped a long way back and after a while so did the noise of civilization. It got dark quick and Blake rested under a huge Banksia tree, he watched the night sky until he fell asleep. When he woke the next day, he stretched and looked around, though nothing was visible Blake had the eeriest feeling someone or something was watching him, he walked again with his hand close enough to grab his dagger should the need for it came up. The road still seemed as long as ever if not longer and seemed to be heading nowhere. Blake sighed and sat down on a log “Mom, I now your watching down on me” he mumbled sadly “Are you proud of me?” he rested on that log for the rest of that day and night before he got up to continue his journey again, the longer the distance he walked now though, the harsher the road got, this certainly wasn’t normal, even the harshest road Blake had seen was nothing near as bad as this road was getting and he figured it was purposely making it impossible for him to walk. See what no one knows about Blake, is that he is a mystic, a being that is magical and not human, not fully anyway. Blake’s mother Gave her mystic life away to Marry the man she loved, she stayed in the human world and never returned to her own, Doing this she also decided to leave behind her mystic abilities, she had told Blake once that he was different, she just never told him in what way he was ‘mystic’ and he never cared to find out, He lost her and until now the pain was too high. Now however Black figured that being Mystic was part of his journey, and though just the thought of that reminded him greatly of his mother, he now understand that figuring out what makes him mystic will be accepting the part of her he had denied himself his whole life. “I want to learn” Blake mumbled “But I don’t know where to start” he wasn’t sure who he was asking, though he was sure partially he was talking to his mother as impossible as it was for her to answer. “You need to let her go” a voice said though Blake couldn’t see anyone “Where are you?” He asked still trying to see “I’m above you” Blake looked up and surly enough above him was a girl, not just any girl, a girl he met a long time ago at a fair “Jasmine, Wha-what are you doing here?” Blake asked “Just flying around, waiting for you” Jasmine said and smiled sweetly “Waiting for me?” Blake asked looking up at Jasmine oddly “I should be confused but hell, I read the letter” he said “SO what do you know of my journey, why are you waiting for me?” Jasmine flies down and lands in front of Blake “I’m here to guide you to the rift” she said “Your journey is still your own, however to get to where you must be, I have to take you, first you will need to find your wings” Blake looked at Jasmine like she’s crazy “Find my wings?” He questioned “Yes, You know, these glittery things on my back, Fairies and Fae’s have them, and you Blake, are a Fae” Blake looked even more confused “What in God’s name is a Fae?” he asked “Your mother was a Fae, Humans ideas of what Fae and Fairy kind are like is very different from what is true, Although both races can make change to a tiny form, it is not how we are, You just need to find your wings, Its a lot easier than it sounds” Blake raised his eyebrow “Oh yeah, easy to find something that clearly isn’t there” he said sarcastically though clearly in a joking manner “Blake, you have a lot to learn, things you will learn along your journey, but to Fly is the only way for you to get to the Rift, it is also the easiest thing to learn” Blake sighed and looked Jasmine right in the eyes “Okay, lets say I believe you, how do I find my wings then?” Jasmine smiles “You have to find the wings inside you, something you can think of that will at least temporarily make you feel so wonderful you can fly”
Blake was confused by Jasmine statement though he for the next few hours just tried continuously to find something that made him so happy he felt like he would fly, the longer he tried the more annoyed he got that he couldn’t do it, that is until he thought about Coal, he didn’t notice at first, in fact he didn’t notice until he looked up and both Jasmine and himself were at the same height as the tallest tree “I don’t get it” Blake said looking down nervously “I think about Coal all the time, what makes it different now?” Jasmine smiled “The power of knowledge is a great thing” she said “How could you do anything you didn’t believe you could, especially when you were fighting so hard to keep your mothers secret” Blake nodded “I get it” he said and flew around a little, surprised that it was so easy, as if he’d been flying his whole life “Come now” Jasmine said “Its time for you to go” she took his hand, flying up until the trees looked like tiny models “What’s that?” Blake asked now looking ahead instead of down “That is the Rift, I can not follow you through, this is where my journey ends” she smiled and let go of Blake’s hand “Good luck” she said then pushed him through before he could even react. Blake frowned and his wings disappeared “Oh crap!” he said then fell from the sky, luckily though it wasn’t as high as he had flown to find the rift, He hit the ground…
